God Hears Prayers
- Psalm 65:1-2: God hears prayers; therefore, all people will come to Him. All mankind needs the Lord.
- Isaiah 66:23: All flesh will come and worship the Lord.
- Philippians 2:5-11: All knees will bow down, and all tongues confess that Jesus is Lord forever and ever.
- 1 John 5:14-15: God hears us when we pray according to His will or His Word; and since we know He hears us, God gives us whatever we ask of Him.
God Promises to Hear Prayers and Respond to Our Needs
- Matthew 7:7-11 & Luke 11:9-10: Jesus ordered us to ASK, and we will RECEIVE, to SEEK and we will FIND, to KNOCK and it will be OPENED to us. It is a promise we can count on to ask, seek, knock and expect the answer Jesus promised.
- John 14: 12-14: Jesus says that it is an absolute truth that if we believe in Him, believers will do the things He did and greater things we will do as the body of Christ, the church. As the church, whatever we ask for in His name, Jesus will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Jesus repeats if we ask Him anything, Jesus will do it.
- John 15:7-8: Jesus said that if we abide in Him and His Word abides in us, we may ask whatever we will, and it will be done for us. This will bring glory to God the Father. When we bear much fruit, it shows we are His disciples.
- John 15: 16: Jesus said also: We did not choose Him – He chose us that we go and bear fruit that remains, and whatever we shall ask the Father in His name, God the Father will give us.
- John 16: 22-24 Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit comes to the disciples and to us, and whatever we will ask the Father in his name, The Father will give it to us. Jesus continues that we have asked nothing in his name; that we should ask and that we will receive that our joy may be full.
- Illustration Number 1: Luke 11:5-10 A friend who does not want to wake up to give bread to his friend but the persistent request from the friend makes him wake up and give it to him.
- Illustration Number 2: Luke 18:1-8 The Wicked judge who fears neither God nor men, gives justice to a widow who has been persistently asking for justice.
God wants us to keep asking and receive an answer.
Prayer: Father, thank you for hearing prayers and do not push me away but as far as the West is from the East so you take my sins away and listen to my prayers to which you will respond based on your will, mercy and grace towards me. In Jesus’s name Amen.
