PRAYING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

  1. Ephesians 6: 18: Pray always with all prayer and supplication in the HOLY SPIRIT, watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
  1. Romans 8:26-27:  We do not know what we ought to pray about, but the Holy Spirit of God intercedes for us with groanings we cannot utter. He who searches the heart knows what the mind of the Spirit is, for He intercedes for us according to the will of God.
  1. Philippians 4:4-6: We are to make known to God our needs and situations by prayer, supplications, and THANKSGIVING. God sends us His peace.
  1. Acts 13:1-3: These leaders were praying and fasting, and the Holy Spirit spoke to them saying: Set apart Saul and Barnabas for the work to which I have called them. Then after they prayed and fasted, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
  1. Acts 4:23-31:  When they heard the report of the arrest of Peter and John and their persecutions, they lifted their voices to God in one accord and quoted the scripture in Psalm 2:1… when they prayed the place was shaken, and they were all filled with the      Holy Spirit. They preached the Word of God with boldness.
  1. Acts 16: 25-34: Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten and imprisoned. In the middle of the night, they prayed and sang songs to the Lord. The prisoners heard them, and SUDDENLY there was an earthquake, chains were broken, and the jailer and his household were saved.
  2. Acts 2:16-36:  Peter explains Pentecost to be God’s kept promise on the arrival of the Holy Spirit for the beginning of the church as the body of Christ. He preached the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and salvation in Him alone. Acts 4:12
  3. Ephesians 5:18: Do not be drunk with wine but be filled with the Holy Spirit.
  4. Galatians 5:16-17: When we walk in the Spirit, we do not accomplish the works of the flesh.

Father, thank you for the help you have provided me with in prayer in the person of the Holy Spirit, the Third person in the trinity. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you help me in my infirmities of not knowing what to say in prayer but you who know the will of God help me pray efficiently.
